At least seven people, including two security officials, were killed in southwestern Pakistan in terrorist attacks on Thursday, the police said.
Three people were killed when unidentified gunmen opened fire on a shop in Quetta on Thursday afternoon.
Earlier in the day, a group of armed people shot two police officials and injured three in the city. Two more deaths were also reported in the morning.
A total of 27 people have been injured in the violence sparked in the region after the death of Balach Marri, the head of the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA), local media reports said.
Marri, who was wanted by the Pakistan's government for his group's alleged involvement in bomb attacks, was reportedly killed in mysterious circumstances on Wednesday.
Soon after the news of Marri's death spread, violence and protests erupted in the city with mobs torching vehicles near Balochistan University where a huge demonstration was organised. A government office was reportedly set ablaze in the city.
All educational institutions and shops in the province were closed and annual examinations were postponed following the incident.
