Detained former prime minister and Awami League leader Sheikh Hasina was shifted to a private medical facility on February 21 in Dhaka for treatment, a senior jail official said.
"Sheikh Hasina has been admitted to Square hospital in the city," he said.
Earlier, officials and her doctors said the ex-premier who was suffering from blood pressure, eye and hearing problems and allergic dermatitis agreed to receiving treatment, except for the ears, in the country.
Hasina asked her counsels in the makeshift courtroom on the Jatiya Sangsad complex to inquire about treatment facilities for her in city hospitals.
"I do not prefer any hospital in posh area. You had better decide on other hospitals," Hasina was quoted by a counsel as saying as she appeared at a trial court on February 19 during the hearing in another corruption case.
Witnesses and reports said Hasina looked pale in the courtroom because of several health complications while she told the lawyers that her hands had swelled because of allergies.
Hasina had earlier refused to have any medical check-ups, except for her eyes, in the country expressing fear that there would be "foul play".

{{/usCountry}}But the prison authorities in emergency-ruled Bangladesh say under the law a detained person can not be sent abroad.
"There is no provision in the jail code for sending a prisoner abroad for treatment," a senior jail official said.
