A training course is being set up for UK businesspeople and professionals who in dealing with India are caught in ‘cultural misadventure’ and thereby get utterly confused, reports Vijay Dutt.

A training course is being set up for UK businesspeople and professionals who in dealing with India are caught in ‘cultural misadventure’ and thereby get utterly confused. The UK India Business Council, a Government supported organisation for promotion of bilateral trade, is launching ‘Cultural Briefing’ sessions under its Insight India banner to prepare businesspeople and young executives flying to India.

Speaking about the project, Sharon Bamford, CEO, UKIBC said, "India has a rich and diverse cultural landscape. UK India Business Council exists to ensure that UK business is ready and able to capitalise on opportunities. Helping business succeed in India is our priority, and integral this is an understanding of its religions, politics and etiquette.
