Twitter has suspended the account of Falah-e-Insaniyat Foundation, a front for the banned Lashkar-e-Taiba terror group that carried out the 2008 Mumbai attacks.
Attempts to access the handle @FIFPakistan on the micro-blogging site on Wednesday produced a message saying the account had been suspended.
In late 2014, Twitter had suspended the accounts of the Jamaat-ud-Dawah, another front for the LeT, and Hafiz Mohammad Saeed, the founder of the LeT.
The suspension evoked a response from Twitter users sympathetic to jihadi groups, who used the hashtag #BringBackFiF.
Their tweets claimed Falah-e-Insaniyat was a "charity" or "disaster management" organisation. The users posted photos of what they claimed were Falah-e-Insaniyat members carrying out "social work".
An account called @FIFPakistan1, claiming to be the new handle of the foundation, also popped up after the suspension, proving the difficulty of acting against terror groups on the micro-blogging site. The first tweet put out by the handle read, "We are back & we will continue to serve mankind; We request @Twitter to reinstate @FiFPakistan."

The Falah-e-Insaniyat Foundation came to the fore after the US and the UN Security Council sanctioned the JuD in the aftermath of the Mumbai attacks that were carried out by 10 members of the LeT.
The UN Security Council declared the JuD a front for the LeT, affecting its fund-raising and welfare activities. The LeT then began using the Falah-e-Insaniyat Foundation for raising funds and recruiting new members.
The Falah-e-Insaniyat Foundation, which has a network across Pakistan, was itself declared an alias for the LeT by the US State Department in November 2010.
