A 60-year-old man was in critical condition and the policeman was seriously injured, both suffering knife wounds, the Israeli Magen David Adom ambulance service said.

Medics initially said one person was killed in the attack.

The attacker was "very seriously injured" by gunshots fired by police after the knife attack in the Gilo settlement.
