Expressing distress over mounting death toll in the bloody two-day mutiny by Bangladesh Rifles troop, United Nations chief Ban Ki-moon has called for calm and resolution of the situation without further violence.
In a statement, Ban condemned "brutal acts of violence" and extended his "deepest" sympathy to the victims, to their families and to the people and government of Bangladesh.
The United States and Britain have also condemned the mutiny and extended their support to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's government.
Both Washington and London expressed their sympathy to those injured in the violence and condolences to the families who have lost loved ones in the mutiny.
The death toll in the two-day revolt by the border guards, which erupted over pay rise on Wednesday, rose over 67 that included BDR chief Maj Gen Shakil Ahmed who is among the dead.
