Over 100 former LTTE combatants were married in a mass ceremony in the northern district of Vavuniya on Sunday. Actor Vivek Oberoi attended the ceremony as marriage certificates were issued to 53 couples.

The former LTTE fighters had spent a year in custody after they surrendered as the civil war between the Tigers and government forces ended in May 2009.
President Mahinda Rajapaksa’s son Namal Rajapaksa, a member of Parliament, was also present at the ceremony.
