WTO body condemns US for violations against Cuba

The Dispute Settlement Body of WTO has condemned the United States for infringing basic trade principles against Cuba and allowing misappropriation of brands.

The Dispute Settlement Body (DSB) of WTO has condemned the United States for infringing basic trade principles against Cuba and allowing misappropriation of brands.

In an ordinary meeting of the body, the Cuban representation and other countries strongly denounced the illegal and licentious Section 211, which contravenes copyright laws.

US delegates presented a brief report on the situation, in which they reiterated that the government was working with Congress to accomplish the recommendations of DSB.

Apart from the Cuban representation, delegates from the European Union, Ecuador, Chile, Brazil, China, Venezuela, Mexico, India, and Vietnam also urged the US to adopt measures to solve the old dispute
