The ground is prepared to receive Nita Ambani, who owns Bhajji’s Indian Premier League (IPL) T20 team Mumbai Indians, and her husband, Mukesh Ambani, whose chartered aircraft is expected to land here on Thursday morning. The wedding resort has been secured for the VIPs. Cricketers Parthiv Patel, Dinesh Karthik, RP Singh, and Pragyan Ojha have arrived in the city already.

Like all the pre-marital rituals, the wedding day is also going to be grand affair. South Indian custom Thangabali will make it a unique Punjabi marriage where authentic south Indian cooks will prepare dosa, idli, uttapam, vada etc. and south Indian dancers with drums will entertain the guests. Foreign chefs will prepare cuisines from world over, and popular chefs of Lucknow, Delhi, and Rajasthan will put their own states on the platter. One of them is from “Paranthewali Gali’, famous food street at Delhi’s Chandni Chowk. A conveyor system will carry the food around.

On Wednesday; the bride, film actress Geeta Basra, had her ‘choora’ ceremony at Cabana. Traditional Punjabi wedding ceremony ‘Jaago’, where the groom’s family leads a procession to the neighbours’ houses and celebrates with them, was organised at Bhajji’s place. At the ‘sangeet’ ceremony on October 27, the guests were served goat milk gathered on the spot. If that is anything to go by, the residents of Jalandhar are in for a treat.
