Hrithik Roshan rubbishes reports of being approached for Padmavati
Actor Hrithik Roshan calls the rumours ‘false’ and ‘baseless’; denies replacing actor Ranveer Singh in the film.
Reports of Hrithik Roshan replacing fellow actor Ranveer Singh in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s upcoming film, Padmavati, have the Roshans bewildered, amused and annoyed.
Hrithik, who is preparing for the next schedule of his home production, Kaabil, says: “These reports are false and baseless. Why would I be looking at replacing any actor? I’d love to work with Sanjay Leela Bhansali again after Guzaarish (2010). But sorry, this is just someone’s imagination.”

Bhansali was keen that Hrithik do Bajirao Mastani. But the actor chose to do Ashutosh Gowariker’s film instead. “Bhansali wanted Hrithik to play Bajirao. But Hrithik was already doing a period film with Ashutosh and he didn’t want to do two costume dramas simultaneously,” says a source.

Regarding the rumours of Ranveer’s ouster from Padmavati, a source from Sanjay Leela Bhansali productions says: “Ranveer is very much playing Allauddin Khilji in the film. We don’t know where these rumours of Mr Bhansali being upset with Ranveer are coming from,” says the source.
