Not everyone liked the Bihari avatar of Alia Bhatt in Udta Punjab trailer (though there are innumerable fans now) - an open letter recently critiqued her portrayal in the film. Here’s how the Bollywood star gave the perfect reply.

When the trailer of Udta Punjab was released, both critics and fans loved it. Alia, who plays a Bihari migrant in the film, was appreciated for her de-glammed look.

However, one ‘open letter’ to the Highway star claimed her look was rather ‘stereotypical’ and wrong, further criticising the portrayal of a person hailing from the northern state.

Though Alia Bhatt never mentioned the open letter, a recent tweet makes fans wonder whether it is a veiled reply to it. She wrote, “For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction, plus a social media overreaction.”

It’s not confirmed that the Bollywood actor has reacted to the open letter but the content of her tweet hints towards her unhappiness with online criticism.
