The long wait for the Reliance Jio 4G connections came to an end today.

By 10 am today, it was clear that half of Delhi was waiting for this day. Jio stores here were bursting at the hems with people waiting to get their hands on the free SIM cards with free services. Though the free services expire on December 31, 2016.

Last week at the Annual General Meeting, RIL Chairman Mukesh Ambani had announced that any customer with an Aadhaar card can walk out of a Jio store with a working connection within 15 minutes, September 5 onwards. The highlight of the speech was free voice calls for Jio customer and zero roaming charges across India.

This explained the crowd that had gathered at Reliance Digital stores across the capital.

At the Reliance Digital Xpress in Greater Kailash I, the store kept reassuring them that SIMs will arrive only at 1 pm. However, by 1 pm the store was with over 100 people jostling for their space. No queues; no security guards to manage the crowd; just chaos.

Was Jio not expecting this rush on its launch day? We will leave you to decide after you watch this video at a Jio store in Delhi.
