Boy found dead in east Delhi canal, cops suspect sodomy
The body was without clothes when it was spotted by an auto-rickshaw driver. Police suspect he was sodomised and killed
The body of an 11-year-old boy was found inside a canal near the New Ashok Nagar Metro station in east Delhi on Wednesday morning, police said.
The boy was missing since Tuesday night. He had gone to attend a wedding with his family in their neighbourhood in Trilokpuri when he went missing.
Police sources said the body was without clothes when it was spotted by an auto-rickshaw driver. They suspect the boy was sodomised before he was killed.
Investigators, however, said they can confirm sexual abuse only after they get his autopsy report.
A senior police officer said the boy lived with his family in Trikolpuri. “He and his family were at a wedding on Tuesday night. He suddenly went missing,” said the officer.

The family members searched the boy in the locality till late in the night and later filed a missing complaint with the local police.
“Our teams were looking for the boy when we received a call from an auto-rickshaw driver about a body lying near the canal,” the officer. The missing boy’s family was called to the spot and they identified him.
A case has been registered and investigations are on, the officer added.
