Akki, Twinkle to support Simple's son

Actors Akshay Kumar and Twinkle Khanna have resolved to financially support late Simple Kapadia's 15-year-old son Karan. Twinkle's aunt lost her battle to cancer recently.

Twinkle Khanna and Akshay Kumar have resolved to financially support late Simple Kapadia's 15-year-old son Karan. Twinkle's aunt lost her battle to cancer earlier this month.

A source close to the couple told a tabloid, "The Kapadia clan (Dimple, her daughters Twinkle and Rinke, Simple and Karan included) have always been close-knit. Simple lived an independent life as a costume designer to the stars until her tryst with cancer. After a point following her diagnosis, Simple had to stop working. It was then that Twinkle and Dimple stepped in to care for mother and son - financially and otherwise. Karan and Simple had been staying with Dimple at her Juhu home for the last three years now."

Simple was once married and that's when Karan was born. "Twinkle adored her maasi. "Akki and Tina feel it is their responsibility to look after Karan now that his mom is no more. In fact, Akki thinks it's not a big deal as he's even supporting his late secretary Bali's family too," the source added

Reportedly, Twinkle and Akshay have even bought property in the name of Karan to help him when he turns 18.
