Modi’s Israel visit highlights: PM says must oppose evils of terrorism, radicalism

In a red carpet welcome to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, his Israeli counterpart Benjamin Netanyahu said “Apka swagat hai mere dost. We have been waiting for you for a long time”.
Modi became the first Indian Prime Minister to visit Israel.
The two leaders embraced heartily and gave brief speeches, pledging to work together on issues including security, agriculture and energy.
During a joint statement, Modi called opposing evils of terrorism, radicalism and violence while Netanyahu sought support “to together do great things for betterment of future of our people”.
Modi also laid a wreath at the Yad Vashem Memorial museum and paid tributes to over six million Jews killed by Nazi Germany.
Modi’s visit to Israel has received wall-to-wall coverage in the Israeli media, which has described it as a historic development that will help de-hyphenate New Delhi’s relations with the Palestinians.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called the visit, which marks 25 years since the two countries established diplomatic relations, a “further expression of the state of Israel’s military, economic and diplomatic strength.”
Over the next two days, 13 CEOs of Israeli companies will interact with 18 Indian CEOs to hammer out new business deals.
