Unhappy with the show put up by India in the first two qualifying matches of the Asian Cup football tournament, the All India Football Federation (AIFF) on Thursday sacked the entire technical committee of the national team.

The fired officials include national coach Syed Nayeemuddin, manager PK Banerjee, assistant coach Gabriel Joseph and goalkeeping coach Atanu Bhattacharya.
Nayeemuddin was appointed to his post only in October last year with a contract spanning up to the Asian Games to be held at Doha later in the year. He replaced Sukhwinder Singh, who got the axe after the team's dismal display against Pakistan and Fiji.
India had won the South Asian Federation Games in Pakistan under Nayeemuddin's charge.
Considering the preparation of the Indian team for the Asian Games, the federation is likely to approach FIFA and Asian Football Confederation for a foreign coach as replacement.
