After a delay of almost a week, the JEE Main all India ranks were announced on Monday. The coaching centres of Kota claimed success in the results by clinching top all India ranks (AIR).
With this begins joint counselling for admissions to 31 National Institute of Technology ( NIT), 18 Indian Institute of Information of Technology (IIIT) and 18 other institutions funded by the central government in the country. Counselling for admissions to 18 IITs also commenced on Wednesday.
Kota coaching institutes and their successful students were jubilant after the results. Naveen Maheshwari, director, Allen Career Institute, said three students of the institute have found place in the top- 10 merit list. They are Sheshansh Agarwal (AIR 4), Divyansh Pareek (AIR 5) and Jai Moondra (AIR 7). Allen’s 12 students have found place in top-100. Gorika Bang of the institute topped the girls’ category claiming AIR 15.
Bansal Classes claimed three AIRs in top-100. “Our students clinched AIRs 11, 34 and 63 in top-100,” said PK Bansal, chief executive officer, Bansal Classes.
Another coaching institute, Resonance Eduventures Private Limited claimed more than 100 ranks by its ‘classroom coaching’ students from Kota and other centres, including three in top-100.
Arpan Banerjee (Mumbai), Homanga Bhardwaj (Kota) and Panda (Bubhaneshwar) bagged AIRs 67, 55 and 38 respectively.
Career Point Institute director Shailendra Maheshwari said that five students of his institute have found place in top-100. Ayush Khandelwal, Utkarsh Sinha, Kacham Praneeth, Abhinav Goyal and Meet Kumar have got AIRs 58, 70, 77, 84 and 87 respectively.
Rao IIT Academy director BV Rao said that Vidhyasagar Naidu of the institute’s Mumbai centre bagged AIR 1 in the other backward classes (OBC) category.
