The Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC), has called suggestions from common citizens on development and construction related works from their area. The PCMC commissioner Shravan Hardikar said,“The PCMC has started working on the economic budget of 2018-19 and therefore we are appealing citizens that they can suggest any development work up to Rs.10 lakh in their respective area. After scrutinising all suggestions we will sort out some and they will be included in the budget. I am appealing citizens to take part in this initiative which will help in the participation of people with the development.”

The PCMC plans to seek various inputs from citizens over different areas of PCMC, in order to get selected that suggested development work in the Budget of 2018-19 for budgetary allocations. Suggestions forms are available at eight regional offices during office timings at free of cost. Citizens are requested to submit their development related suggestions upto Rs.10 lakh in their area until November 6. It would help the PCMC to solve various problems in the city.

Citizens have also hailed the civic body’s initiative. “This move of crowdsourcing initiatives is a great way to actually receive information and ensure public participation. The PCMC must take note of critical issues like electricity and water supply along with public transport and infrastructure,” said Vikas Jagtap, a resident from PCMC.
