As the Classes 10 and 12 board examinations are beginning on Tuesday, the state education board and administration have taken steps to check copying by imposing Section 144 around the examination centres. No photostat shop can be operational within 200 metres of the examination centre. Police teams will also keep a vigil around the examination centres.
Talking to Hindustan Times, Pankaj Kumar, district magistrate and secretary of education board, said: “To curb cheating, a total of 230 flying squads have been formed and district education officers and block education officers will pay surprise visits to examination centres.”
Deputy commissioner Pankaj Kumar said, “There are 1,482 examination centres and nearly 7.6-lakh students of Classes 10 and 12 would appear in the exams. As many as 14,813 supervisors and 1,482 centres superintendents have been put on the job to ensure copying-free examination.”
He said district magistrates and SP of every district had been asked to ensure law and order near the examination centres.
“No one will be allowed to get inside the examination centre without proper identification and admit card,” he said.
