Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC) chief Manjinder Singh Sirsa on Friday slammed Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) state convener Sucha Singh Chhotepur for claiming party national convener Arvind Kejriwal was “insulted” on being shown dressed as a ‘nihang’ on a magazine cover.

Claiming Chhotepur’s statement had exposed “mental hollowness” of AAP leaders, Sirsa said: “The photograph has not insulted Kejriwal. It has insulted Sikh community and customs by portraying a clean-shaven person in the attire of a practising Sikh.”

Sirsa said instead of further hurting Sikh sentiments by indulging in “fake rhetoric”, Kejriwal and Chhotepur should offer an unconditional public apology to the community.
