Actor Saurabh Raj Jain, noted for portraying the roles of Lord Krishna and Vishnu in two popular mythological TV dramas, talks about how life has changed after his television stint, his guiding force in life and more.
You have played Lord Vishnu and Krishna at such a young age. Where do you get so much maturity and depth from?
Experience is my biggest teacher in life. I lost my father at a very young age, that's what made me more mature. I took on a lot of responsibility at a young age. I have been following Buddhism since 11 years now. I love the sound of chanting.
What changes have you seen in yourself after taking up these roles?
I have become very calm and have imbibed a lot of patience.

Do you often bump into fans who consider you the real Lord Krishna?
(Laughs) Often. When I am in the makeup room, people often come and stand outside, and wait for me to come out just to take my blessings ... even elderly people come.
Did you always want to become an actor?
I had no idea what I wanted to do in my career, but I was sure I won't do a 9-to-5 job. When I came to Mumbai, I was just 19 years old and did the TV show, Remix. Thereafter, I just fell in love with acting.
Who's the guiding force in your life?
My life's graph has only peaked ever since Ridhima (his wife) came into my life. In fact, the credit for my success goes to two women in my life - my mother and my better half; they both keep me grounded.
