The fest of Miranda House College, Tempest 2012, was an out-an-out fun affair. Day one — Qayamat — saw Hansraj College bagging two awards, one for the Best Play and the other for the Best Actor, for The Final Act – the stage play. The day ended with DJ Sumit Sethi entertaining the crowds with some funky tunes.

Day two of the fest, The Resurrection, featured events like Dhol Pitara (the street play competition), Sira (the Indian dance event) and The Last Step (the Western dance contest). While Shivaji College emerged trumps in Dhol Pitara, the first place in the The Last Step went to Maitreyi College. Sira saw Neha Purohit of KNC and Akanksha Chauhan of Miranda being declared winners in the solo acts, while Miranda stood first in the folk dance category.

What rocked
Cycle stunts performed by students provided a refreshing break from the usual fanfare.
Zorbing facilities were provided to visitors on day one.

What didn’t
Food available at the various stalls were overpriced.
The poster-making contest was a thanda affair, as many students didn’t turn up for it.
