There is something about abstract works of art that makes them enigmatic and alluring. An exhibition in the city is going to present such artworks. Called Transmundane - Beyond this World, it will showcase a photographic collection of abstractions. This exhibition, which is being organised by CAMERAunLIMITED, will display works by both amateur and professional photographers.
“All the participating artists are photographers and this exhibition aims to promote their work. The artists are from various backgrounds and some of them have even won international awards,” says Ravi Dhingra, founder, CAMERAunLIMITED. “My body of work is largely abstractions, as the play of mystery and intrigue in visuals, as well as the challenge to showcase something in a manner that is not so apparent to the normal eye, is very exciting and stimulating. I will be putting up six visuals of mine, in which, the medium is glass or ice,” says Sarika Dandona, one of the participating photographers.
“I will be exhibiting seven or eight works, which have been shot all across India and even abroad. The works are mostly travel features. I had started photography as a hobby, but now, I do it professionally,” says photographer Sanjay Maggo.
“My pictures show the transformation of the self to another state of mind. These images are from different parts of the country, as I’ve travelled a lot. There is a picture that shows the transformation of a Shivling to a deity. Another image is of the prayer drum kept in a monastery in Ladakh. When you see this image, you will feel that there are a lot of vibrations in it, which have come from the regular beating of the drum. This is how I interpret it,” says photographer Sanjay Das.
All the photographs displayed in this exhibition will be up for sale.
