On playing the role of Krishna, actor Raj Kumar Sharma, 35, tells us, "I have playing Krishna for 10 years but playing this character is always a challenge because it’s a difficult role to enact. One has to emote the different mood changes of the character while maintaining a smiling face, a typical personality trait of the character."

Drawing an interesting analogy, 27-year-old actor Shiburam Mohanta, who plays Arjuna, says, "I have been playing this role for seven years and have felt a sense of courage in my personal life, inspired by what is a courageous character in the play.”

The producer and director of the play, veteran dramatist Shobha Deepak Singh, concludes for us, telling us on how she has been able to keep a classic fresh over the years, "My driving passion has been to carry out further research to broaden the spectrum of the production and devote larger time to the lesser known aspects of Krishna’s life. It is also my aim to make the presentation more contemporary and to make the audience step out of the groove of blind faith and throw up questions of relevance which are universal and timeless."
