Today evening will witness a gathering of Urdu poets in the Capital. About 20 distinguished Urdu poets from India and abroad will participate in this annual mushaira that marks the 11th year of Jashn-e-Bahar, a non-profit trust founded by Urdu activist and writer Kaamna Prasad.

Poets from the UK, the UAE, Canada, Pakistan, Nepal and India will recite their latest compositions.Some of the names include Kishwar Naheed, Fatema Hassan and Asghar Nadeem Syed from Pakistan; Sohan Rahi from England; Ashfaq Hussain from Canada; Dr Sarwat Zahra from the UAE and Khwaja Moazzam Shah from Nepal.Javed Akhtar, Shakeel Azmi, Iqbal Ashhar and Amir Ahmad Mumkin, among many others, will represent India.

A painting by MF Husain, representing the sweep and openness of Urdu language, will frame the backdrop of the mushaira.
