Hip and young, that’s how Seven, the art gallery describes itself. And it lives up to its claim. The designs are edgy, the art contemporary. From canvas-based art, sculptures and installations to craft objects and limited-edition design pieces, at this two-storeyed gallery it’s all about discovering fresh talent.

This weekend check out Contested Space — Incursions, a group exhibition curated by artist Heidi Fichtner. The exhibition explores the ways in which architecture and the design of public spaces can serve to define individual and social body. Built environments are designed as systems of control, influencing both how we experience the dynamic urban arena and what we can see. Architects such as Prayas Abhinav, Riyas Komu and Asim Waqif are participating in this exhibition.
While the exhibition has not set out to make a political statement, it is an avenue to perceive and perhaps intervene in social landscapes as we know it.
