4-year-old falls into bore-well near Gwalior

A 4-year-old boy fell into an open bore-well situated in a field in village Kheri-Gaon of Dabra block, some 45 km from Gwalior on Friday evening.

A 4-year-old boy fell into an open bore-well situated in a field in village Kheri-Gaon of Dabra block, some 45 km from Gwalior on Friday evening. The child Abhi Pachori, son of Hemesh Pachori, slipped into the bore-well which is about 28 to 29 feet deep while moving along the field with his mother.

A team of field officials including sub-divisional magistrate (SDM), revenue officials and rescue team rushed to the spot soon after the alarm was raised by the villagers. Village Kheri-Gaon where the incident took place is about 4 km from main Dabra town. Rescue operations were underway at the time of filing of report. Sources disclosed the rescue team of Border Security Force (BSF) was also contacted and pressed into service to bail the boy out safely.

SDM Aman Veer Singh Vains said the rescue operations in association with BSF team were in progress and the team had managed to sight the boy. Rescue operations are still in progress and oxygen is being supplied to the child through a pipe. SDM said the bore-well was open but covered with bushes. “We have gone 25 feet deep and have to go about another four feet. The boy is in a stationary stage in the bore-well”, added the SDM.
