Bhopal: Mukhtar Malik detained, may be booked under NSA

The Bhopal crime branch detained notorious criminal Mukhtar Malik on Wednesday night. The crime branch, however, has not arrested him so far. Sources said he was detained from 10 Number Market.

The city crime branch detained notorious criminal Mukhtar Malik on Wednesday night. The crime branch, however, has not arrested him so far. Sources said he was detained from 10 Number Market.

It was following a tip off that a crime branch team along with MP Nagar Police nabbed Malik. It is learnt that police is preparing to book him under National Security Act (NSA).

Malik was wanted in a firing incident at Narmada Hospital in May. He along with his accomplice had gone to the hospital to meet an acquaintance, who was admitted in the intensive care unit (ICU) of the hospital.

When the security guard on duty objected, Malik had an altercation with him. Meanwhile, one of his accomplices fired a gunshot in air. They later managed to escape from the hospital. Mukhtar Malik, hails Uttar Pradesh and he has been active in crime world since 1982.
