Sources said her mutilated body was spotted by locals near the railway track at Kaushalya Nagar on Friday night. The locals informed the nearby Misrod police station.

According to a police officer at Misrod police station, the girl, identified as Bobby, was the daughter of Ramu Gaur, a labourer. Over a fortnight ago, Ramu was travelling with his family from Misrod to Mandideep by train for treatment of their daughter. They claimed that their daughter was very ill and died during the journey, following which they buried her near the railway line.

Police have sent the body for post-mortem and have started investigating the matter.
