Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was recently presented the Pazhassi Raja Purashkaram - Abhinaya Kala Ratna by the Pazhassi Raja Charitable Trust. Previous recipients of the honour include Lata Mangeshkar and Sri Sri Ravi Shankar among luminaries from various fields.

Aishwarya’s father-in-law, Amitabh Bachchan has also received the award in the past.The actor could not make it to the event to receive her award, citing prior family commitments. She said, “I’d like to dedicate this award to every professional I’ve worked with throughout my career and to all my audiences in India and the world over for their love, support and blessings….. and my family.”
