He once again impressed cinegoers with his directorial skills in Rockstar (2011). And even as speculations are rife about Imtiaz Ali’s next film, producer Sajid Nadiadwala confirms the two are set to team up soon.
“Yes, Imtiaz is working on his script. I don’t have exact details of it because he is still working on the storyline. But his film should also start by the end of this year,” says Nadiadwala, who celebrates his 46th birthday today.
For some time though, rumours mills have been abuzz that Ranbir Kapoor – who stars in the film adaptation of Chetan Bhagat’s Two States — wants Ali to direct him again after Rockstar, but Sajid denies any such plans.
Sajid is also excited about the movies he has in his kitty. “This year is going to be special. Kick with Salman Khan will go on floors by the end of 2012. I am very excited about it because it’s an out-and-out action film, which I haven’t dabbled with much,” he says.
And at the start of 2013, shooting for Judwaa 2 will begin. “To achieve the perfect result, Hollywood experts will be hired,” says Nadiadwala, adding this birthday is very special for him, considering he completes his silver jubilee in Bollywood. The Housefull 2 maker plans to spend the day with family.
“More than anything else, I am happy about the fact that the last 25 years have been very fruitful for both -- my company (Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment) and me.
I have seen new generations come and go through different decades. So, be it the ’80s, ’90s, or even the millennium years, the journey has been fulfilling, because along with the changes in the industry, my company has also synchronised itself with time,” he ends.
Shahid is back with Sajid!
Till some time back, Shahid Kapoor made headlines about Sajid Nadiadwala’s Heer Ranjha, which was to star him and Deepika Padukone.
But for some reason, Sabir Khan’s film went on the backburner. And even as Shahid gets busy with his new ventures, news comes in that despite Heer Ranjha falling through, the actor will work with Nadiadwala.
“Yes, it’s true that we have signed Shahid for a film. In a few days’ time, we will be announcing the project. But let me clarify, it’s nor Heer Ranjha,” says the producer.
