Just hours before the film hit theatres on Friday, the makers of 102 Not Out released a new song, sung by the movie’s star, Amitabh Bachchan. Titled Waqt Ne Kiya Kya Haseen Sitam, the song is a rendition of the ‘60s hit by the same name that was originally sung by Geeta Dutt.

Sharing the song on Twitter, Amitabh wrote late Thursday, “T 2794 -One of my most favourite songs ! Presenting to you, #SDBurman’s classic, #WaqtNeKiyaKyaHaseenSitam in my voice. Because some tunes should never be forgotten! http://bit.ly/WaqtNeKiyaKyaHaseenSitam-Song … @chintskap @rovinmusic @umeshkshukla @JimitTrivedi06 @saregamaglobal @SonyPicsIndia” Much like the original, the new song also laments the changes that time brings in relationships. The song, however, does not look as melancholy as the original number.

While SD Burman composed the music for the original song, Rohan-Vinayak have given the music for the new version. The original song was picturised on Waheeda Rehman and Guru Dutt in the 1959 film Kaagaz Ke Phool.

Watch the original song here:

Directed by Umesh Shukla, of OMG: Oh My God fame, 102 Not Out has Amitabh playing a 102-year-old father to Rishi Kapoor’s 65-year-old character. Amitabh and Rishi will be seen together on screen after a gap of 27 years. They play a father-son duo in the film that celebrates old age.
