From Sanjay Dutt to Salman Khan and even Shipa Shetty, many Bollywood stars are going bald and beautiful for their upcoming films. Here's a look at the stars without their manes...
Actor Sanjay Dutt will be sporting the bald look in Karan Johar’s upcoming remake of 1990 film Agneepath starring Amitabh Bachchan. In the film Dutt will be seen playing the role of villain Kancha Cheena, played by Danny Denzongpa in the original version. Dutt was quoted as saying, “In Agneepath, you will see me in a never-before-seen avatar. Initially, I had put on prosthetic make-up, but it used to melt within an hour due to the heat. The temperature was around 48 degrees. I used to go mad in that hot temperature. So I thought I better shave off my hair.”
Film: Mr India 2
If reports are to be believed then actor Salman Khan might be seen playing the famous baddie character Mogambo from the 1987’s Mr India, in the film’s imminent sequel, which is to be produced by film maker Boney Kapoor. The filmmaker was quoted as saying, “I have spoken to Salman about the idea and he is kicked about it. I want only him for the negative lead. But we need to finish the script and show him. I will be roping in international experts to create a very menacing look for him.” And it seems Salman, who will be next seen in Bodyguard, might go bald as was the look of the original Mogambo played by Amrish Puri, in the original. Salman, who has shaved his head in the past (as seen in the pic above) even tweeted about his desire to go bald recently: “Thinking mein bhi takla ho ja oooooon (sic)”
Film: The Desire
Actor Shilpa Shetty has followed in the footsteps of Lisa Ray, who had earlier sported a bald look on the silver screen. Shetty will be seen donning a bald avatar in an Indo-Chinese project, The Desire, produced by her mother Sunanda Shetty and co-producer Shi Yun. The film revolves around the journey of an Indian classical dancer, Goutami. Interestingly, Shilpa, who portrays the role of a dancer (who turns into a monk) in the film didn’t tonsure head in real and has used prosthetics instead. “Since I play an Odissi dancer, I’ve kept the look very ethnic with a modern twist. From long hair and kohl eyes to bald and sans makeup… it was fun to experiment. Getting the bald look was a three hours job,” says Shetty.
Actor Arjun Rampal had reportedly gone bald for his upcoming film Ra.One. While shooting, the actor hid his head with a cap in all his public appearances. He has kept his bald look as a surprise element for his fans. Rampal had tweeted about his new look, “Feeling light headed..no pun intended..thanks to the director producer...” He was then quoted as saying, “I miss my hair but to gain something, you got to lose something.”
