It is an emotional time for Deepika Padukone. The actor is enjoying accolades as her film Padmaavat released after a long and arduous battle against the fringe. In the middle of her cinematic journey, her father, badminton player Prakash Padukone, received the lifetime achievement award and the actor could not stop her tears.
Deepika was in Delhi with mother Ujjala and sister Anisha to cheer on her father as he was felicitated by the Badminton Association of India (BAI) with Lifetime Achievement Award. The award was conferred by Vice-President of India, Venkaiah Naidu.
The 32-year-old actor chose a silk sari and a long-sleeved blouse for the occasion. While Deepika shared the invite for the event, her fan clubs were awash with photos of the family at the venue. Badminton player PV Sindhu also shared her selfie with the family.
She wrote with the photo, “Many congratulations to Prakash Padukone sir for the Lifetime Achievement Award and also had a lovely time with the family and with one of my favourite Deepika Padukone.”
Earlier, Deepika and Anisha were seen twinning at the Mumbai airport as they left for Delhi. Both were dressed in identical tees, black jackets and white sneakers.
Deepika will start shooting for her film with Vishal Bhardwaj, Sapna Didi, now.
