For some time now, Prateik and Amy Jackson have been making news about their sizzling chemistry — both on and off screen. But now, as Ekk Deewana Tha gears up for release (February 17), makers have started worrying about the couple’s steamy sequence in the film.

A spokesperson of Fox Star Studio, the film’s producer, says that the scene was shot recently but once the makers had a look at it, they realised that the Censor Board might have a problem with it. “And to avoid any further hurdles (after the Hosanna controversy), we have taken the decision to edit some scenes from the final cut. Though we maintain that it is a beautifully shot sequence and doesn’t look vulgar at all,” adds the spokesperson.

When contacted, director Gautham Menon confesses that his team is still pondering about the fate of the sequence. “The scenes are aesthetically shot, so we are left thinking whether to tone it or completely edit it,” he says, adding Amy and Prateik were extremely professional during the shoot of the sequence.

Ever since Ekk Deewana Tha went on floors, grapevine has been abuzz about the proximity between Prateik and Amy. A few days ago, it was reported that late Smita Patil’s son moved into Amy’s place in Bandra, though Prateik has denied the reports.

It’s also believed that Prateik is taking a keen interest in helping Amy find a foothold in Bollywood by introducing her to industry folks and prodding her to learn Hindi.
