Hrithik Roshan plans to celebrate birthday with family, kids

Last year, Hrithik Roshan was in the news for all sorts of reasons — first, about his brain surgery; then for Krrish 3’s success and most-recently for his separation from wife Sussanne.
Today, as he turns 40, the actor gets candid about the highs and lows of the previous year.
You turn 40 today. How do you look back at 2013?
A line from my favourite poem goes: If you can meet with triumph and disaster… and treat those two impostors just the same. I saw the biggest success of my life (Krrish 3) in 2013. At the same time, the year has also tested me in every way possible — physically, emotionally and mentally.
What are you expecting from 2014?
I plan to create a beautiful life full of victories, one that will inspire my kids (Hrehaan and Hridhaan) to grow stronger, unafraid to take life by the horns and with every rise, learn to be even more humble.
Any special plans to celebrate your birthday?
I always believed that my 40th year would make me look back and see how far I’ve come. But now it just feels like another day. I feel like my true journey has just begun. It’s time to look ahead with even more strength to realise my true potential. I plan to celebrate (my birthday) with my children and my family out at sea enjoying the serenity and excitement of water sports.
What’s your birthday wish this year?
The only prayer I have is for the good health of my family. For my children, for Sussanne, for my parents, Sunaina (sister) and everyone I love.
Would you call yourself a birthday party person?
I’m not usually, but I have a feeling that’s going to change this year.
For you, what have been the highs and lows of 2013?
Highs and lows are part of life. When you are on a high, you have to learn to ride that wave and enjoy it. And when you’re low, you should learn to gain perspective, use your sense of humour and laugh even harder.
