A lot is being speculated about your personal life (his alleged separation with Malaika Arora Khan). What do you have to say about that?
People should mind their own business. This particularly applies to those who are inquisitive, and those who jump to conclusions. I appreciate the concern from my well-wishers and fans. But, it is my personal life. Whenever clarifications are needed, they will be given. Otherwise, I won’t speak on such matters.

Have you ever thought of quitting social media due to negative posts?
Not really. I have become numb to certain things. There are times when you feel that things are going against you or the media is being a little harsh or speculative. However, once you are in this profession, there is not much that you can do even though you want to stay away.

Do you incorporate an actor’s inputs while directing a film?
I believe in giving actors the freedom to express themselves, and adding more to whatever is written. I like it when actors offer something new with their performances, and elevate the scene. I don’t restrict an actor.

Have there been times when the output has deviated from what was on paper?
By and large, you work as per the script. There is room for improvement, but it doesn’t change drastically. The change also has to work for the story. Sometimes, there is a long gap between the time the script was written and when it went on the floors. Being on the sets can be refreshing, as you can revive the script in some ways. You cannot be rigid, because it is a not a gospel that can’t be changed.
