Bhandarkar, who has in the past garnered critical acclaim for his films such as Chandni Bar (2001), Satta (2003), Page 3 (2005), and Fashion (2008), feels his trait of thoroughly researching a subject matches the criteria of reporters.

“For my film, Fashion, like an investigative journalist, I went about knowing the people, the models, the fashion designers. Similarly with the corporate world (while working on the film Corporate),” he added.
