Akshay Kumar, in the middle of getting his shoulder treated in Germany — flew back to India to complete the next schedule of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Rowdy Rathore, including the action-packed climax scene.

“Akshay, along with wife Twinkle, had left last Saturday. He hurt his shoulder while shooting the pre-climax scene at a construction site in Mulund, and was in a lot of pain,” says a member of the actor’s entourage.

Apparently, Twinkle had insisted that he goes to a specialist in Germany for treatment. But since producers and director Prabhudeva were ready to start on the next schedule, the actor decided not to postpone everything again, as it had already been pushed from January 3 to January 11 due to his health condition.

Co-producer Shabina Khan says, “Despite an injury, Akshay continued shooting, since he didn’t want to disrupt the schedule.”

Insiders reveal that producers — including Sanjay — have also arranged for a German doctor to accompany Akshay on his way back to the shooting location in Badami, Karnataka. “The doctor will stay with him considering his shoulder isn’t completely fit yet,” says the source.

Last year too, Akshay had sprained his back, and travelled to Germany for a special water therapy.
