Delhi got quite a taste of Bollywood masala on Thursday, with big stars, a little naach gaana, a little gussa and a whole lot of fun.
Actors Akshay Kumar, John Abraham, Deepika Padukone and Chitrangda Singh were in the Capital to promote their upcoming film Desi Boyz and got dancing on stage in Chattarpur, before heading to Vasant Kunj.
The cast visited the Indian Institute of Planning and Management around 5pm, though the event was to start at 1pm. Though students were furious about the delay, once the stars showed up, all was forgiven. Akki and John vroomed in on bikes, while Chitrangda and Deepika arrived in a car. All four then got on stage and danced to songs from the film.
At the press conference in DT Cinemas later, Deepika denied reports of having had problems with Chitrangda on the sets. “To be honest, we only have one scene in the film. So, we had no reason to have any issues. It is during the promotions that we are getting to know each other better,” she said.
The film may not have involved any catfights, but Akshay said, “But, now you may see a dogfight!” About his chemistry with John, he said, “We’re like sisters. Though the movie deals with bromance, it’s not the Dostana kind. We were very comfortable with each other and that showed on the screen too.” htc
Akshay Kumar got angry when someone asked whether actor Priyanka Chopra’s item number from Desi Boyz had been dropped at the behest of his wife, Twinkle. “Aap is baare main Priyanka se hi kyon nahi poochte. Maine aapse aapki biwi ke bare main poocha. Nahi naa? Aapko accha lagega agar main aapki biwi aur ghar ke bare main baat karoon,” he said.
