Actor Katrina Kaif has come a long way from her 2003 Bollywood debut film, Boom. In a candid chat with Anaita Shroff Adajania on her chat show Feet Up With The Stars, the actor opened up about working with South star Vijay on her first ever commercial several years ago.

Sharing an example of how humble he was, Katrina said, “We were sitting on the floor when we were shooting in Ooty. I was very, very cold. I was on my phone and I see in front of me these two feet. I thought it must be someone standing and I didn’t bother to look up... Finally, I have looked up and I see that it’s the guy in the ad with us. He’s a South superstar, his name is Vijay. He was so polite, he was waiting not to disturb me to say goodbye.”

The old commercial shows Vijay teasing a portrait of Katrina with a bottle of cold drink before she eventually steps out of the frame, dressed as a ballet dancer. The actor goes on to dance with him when Vijay realises that he was dreaming the dance sequence and Katrina was actually standing in front of him. She catches him by surprise at the end of the commercial.

Katrina will now be seen in Salman Khan starrer Bharat. She plays the role of Kumud Raina and has been introduced by Salman as ‘Madam Sir’. Talking about her role in the film, Katrina recently told Mumbai Mirror in an interview, “Madam Sir is a term Ali came up with for my character who works at an employment exchange, hiring men for an oil refinery. Probably the only female in a male-dominated environment.” Her dialogue, ‘Itne bhaari gyaan ki zarurat nahi hai’ was made into a meme soon after the film’s trailer was released. Directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, the film is set to release on Eid, June 5 this year.

The actor has also been confirmed to star opposite Akshay Kumar in Rohit Shetty’s next, Sooryavanshi. The film is scheduled to release next year.
