Kunal Kapoor teams up with Oscar-winning makeup artist for Veeram

Actor Kunal Kapoor’s makeup was done by Oscar-winning makeup artist Trefor Proud, who won the 72nd Academy Award in the category of best makeup for the film Topsy Turvy.

Actor Kunal Kapoor has invested a lot of time to get the perfect look for his next film. Besides rigorous work out, the actor also collaborated with Academy award winner makeup artist Trefor Proud and sat with him for hours to get the right look.

Actor Kunal Kapoor has worked with makeup artist Trevor Proud for his next film Veeram.

Proud won the 72nd Academy Award in the category of Best Makeup for the film Topsy Turvy.

“We used to get there at about five in the morning, because the makeup was very intricate and sometimes took up to four hours. I used to blast heavy metal music, to keep awake. It was quite a contrast, the traditional make up being done with loud heavy metal blaring in background. It was great working with Trefor, since he understood the character well in advance before actually working on it,” says Kapoor.

The actor showed a lot of patience throughout the process of getting the character right.

“A lot of research went into designing the make up for his character, Chandu Chekavar and Kunal shows a lot of patience through the entire process. He was keen on working with the best people to make his character as authentic as possible,” says a source.
