The faux trailer stars Shyamalan, Avatar actor Stephen Lang, Penthouse Pet Ryan Keely and MTV News correspondent Josh Horowitz.
The footage is set on an escalator which suddenly comes to a stop and features the stars, doing silly things as they are put in an "intense" situation.
Devil is set in an elevator of a building where several people are stuck and threatened by the devil in disguise.
Produced by M Night Shyamalan and Sam Mercer, the September 17 release is directed by John Erick Dowdle and Drew Dowdle.
