Mahira Khan denies plans for Bollywood debut opposite Ranveer Singh
"Even I’ve heard about these reports, and I have no clue where they are coming from! There hasn’t even been any such discussion. Of course I’d like to act in a Bollywood film, but right now, there’s nothing substantial to say," says Khan, who debuted on the big screen with the film Bol.
She might be touted as the next big import from across the border, but Karachi-based actor Mahira Khan, has quashed all speculations about her signing a big ticket Bollywood film alongside actor Ranveer Singh.
"Even I’ve heard about these reports, and I have no clue where they are coming from! There hasn’t even been any such discussion. Of course I’d like to act in a Bollywood film, but right now, there’s nothing substantial to say," says Khan, who debuted on the big screen three years back with Shoaib Mansoor’s crtically-acclaimed film, Bol.
The VJ-turned-model and actor insists that she’s a private person and is not even on social media. "I’ve no clue who’s giving out false information regarding me signing Bollywood films, I’m not even on Twitter or Facebook... There are false handles in my name," she says, adding, "You know my brother tells me, ‘Do you not even care if people are giving out wrong information about you on social media and that too in your name?’ He says that I stay in a hole with walls around."
Khan, however, is a fan of Bollywood films and actors. Ask her who’s her favourite, and she shyly says, "There are many, but I’d be cheating on Shah Rukh Khan if I don’t take his name. It is like a 13-year loyalty for him that’s here to stay."
Films, apart, it’s TV dramas where Khan has carved her niche — her debut being alongside one of Pakistan’s most popular actors, Fawad Khan. "I was new and Fawad really helped me out," she recalls.
