One day before Aiyaary, Akshay Kumar’s PadMan will now release on January 25

Produced by Twinkle Khanna’s Mrs Funnybones Productions, PadMan also stars Sonam Kapoor and Radhika Apte in lead roles.

The box-office clash between Brothers Akshay Kumar and Sidharth Malhotra has now been averted. Khiladi Kumar’s PadMan, which was slated to release on Republic Day, will now release a day early.

Akshay took to social media to announce the new release date as he wrote, “Superhero ke saath Super Republic week. #PadMan releasing on 25th January, 2018! @PadManTheFilm @sonamakapoor @radhika_apte @mrsfunnybones @SonyPicsIndia @kriarj #RBalki”

In the R Balki-directorial, the Toilet: Ek Prem Katha star is stepping into the shoes of national hero Arunachalam Muruganantham; the inventor of low-cost sanitary napkins for women in rural areas.

In 2017, Shah Rukh Khan had brought the release date of his film Raees forward by one day. It released on January 26, instead of earlier scheduled January 26.

Hrithik Roshan’s Kaabil was also expected to hit theatres on January 26, but he also had to reschedule it to January 25.

Later, both the films were declared successful at the box office.
