Raid director Raj Kumar Gupta: Priorities change, you become more responsible after marriage

Filmmaker Raj Kumar Gupta says he and wife, actor Myra Karn, wouldn’t compromise on their jobs for any reason.

Filmmaker Raj Kumar Gupta, who got married to actor Myra Karn on June 20, admits that life has “changed” ever since, but it’s all on the “personal front”, and wouldn’t change the way he works.

Raj Kumar and Myra dated each other for seven years before they decided to get married.

“It’s only been a month, but yes things change. I mean, your priorities change; you become more responsible, but it won’t affect my work... It’s a complete different thing. I mean, work won’t take a back seat, just because we got married. We both love what we do, and we won’t compromise on that for any reason,” he says.

The couple dated for seven years before tying the knot. What prompted them to take the big step? “We’ve known each other for a long time, so we decided that it’s time we get married,” says the filmmaker. Raj Kumar directed Myra in the 2011 film, No One Killed Jessica, in which she played Jessica Lal, .

On the work front, the 42-year-old is riding high on the success of the Ajay Devgn- starrer Raid. He is “proud” of the fact that the film was loved by the masses. “When you make a film, you make it for the audiences. No filmmaker will say that he [or she] isn’t bothered about what the audiences say about their films. If they do, they’re lying. So, to see that so many people loved the film and praised it makes me proud and happy,” he says.

The film’s success fuelled rumours that Raj Kumar would work on another film with Ajay. He confirms, “Yes, it is true that Ajay and I are in talks for another movie. But, that’s what there is to all of it. We haven’t decided the script or anything, it’s just talks.” .
