O Re Manwa won the best international narrative short at New York International Film Festival in 2009 while Bawara Mann was an official selection at La Femme International Film Festival. Mitu directed both movies.

“I played the other woman in O Re Manwa. It was from the point of view of the other woman and it was treated with dignity, which otherwise you don’to see because the other woman is always seen with contempt,” Sakshi said, adding, “In Bawara Mann, I play two characters in one shot — a writer, played by Nishikant Kamat. I personify his thinking and I also play a bored wife whose hubby has no time for her.”
