Talk of paying tributes to your teacher, and this one scores high on its 'thinking-out-of-the-box' element. Actor Tiger Shroff released a video on Friday of himself dancing with his mentor as a tribute to the ultimate dance master, Michael Jackson. The five-and-a-half minute-long video has the Junior Shroff matching some of MJ's signature moves step-by-step, swinging to the King of Pop's music.
Our verdict? The ludicrous juxtaposition of MJ's iconic moves with a tune we've heard in so many baraat bands gets unbearable to the extent that you just want it to stop, and stop right away. What's worse is that he begins the 'routine' by thanking viewers for all the ‘love’ he got for his debut film Heropanti, even listing names of all those associated with it. The thanks and 'love notes' continue for a good minute before we finally see the 'student' getting down to dancing. Also read: Twitter trolls: Did you read Tiger Shroff as Tiger ripoff?
Now this is where he makes a difference. This boy has got moves, for sure. The video begins on a fabulous note, and just when we thought he has managed to get our attention, he inserts the ultimate dampener: he starts dancing to Whistle baja from... you guessed it right, Heropanti!
By the time the video finally ends, we are left wondering if this was a tribute to Michael or a not-so-gentle reminder of the ‘hero’ that Tiger Shroff is and always will be. And if you don’t think so, he might remind you again perhaps busting some moves like Elvis Presley in a month or two (on Whistle Baja of course).
