Sharman Joshi to act in Vidhu’s Chitthiyan
3 Idiots actor confirmed to play one of the male leads in Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s upcoming Chitthiyan, Ranbir Kapoor likely to bag other lead role.
Sharman Joshi is set to act in Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s romantic venture, Chitthiyan. For a long time now, speculations have been rife about actors in the two hero romantic film. A few days back, Vidhu had stated that he was in discussions and couldn’t comment.

But now, Sharman who will also be seen in Chopra’s upcoming Ferrari Ki Sawaari has been officially roped in for one of the male lead roles.
“Vidhu and Rajkumar Hirani are very impressed with Sharman. Last week, when they saw some rushes of Ferrari Ki Sawaari, they fell in love with his performance,” says an insider from Chopra’s unit.
Ferrari Ki Sawari director Rajesh Mapuskar confirms “Vinod sir and Raju sir (Hirani) loved Sharman’s work in my film. And almost immediately, they signed him up for Chittiyaan.”
Chitthiyan is a romantic drama, set against the backdrop of a war. It will feature one female and two male leads. Ranbir Kapoor is believed to have shown a lot of interest in the project.
Ask Rajesh if Ranbir is going to be another male lead and he smiles “Other young actors have shown a lot of interest, but it’s too early to talk about it right now.”
Sharman, on his part, has always been known as a good actor, though industry experts feel that it was Hirani’s blockbuster, 3 Idiots, that won him loads of accolades.
If reports are to be believed, Ranbir and Shahid Kapoor have been competing with each other to bag the other male lead part in Chopra’s film.
Reportedly, Chopra had met Ranbir for a narration in Los Angeles a few months ago. Another set of reports suggested that Shahid too was spotted at the filmmaker’s office a few times recently.
