Singer Arjun Kanungo wants to act in movies

Singer Arjun Kanungo talks about he started off, being trained under the guidance of Asha Bhosle, and his acting aspirations.

Arjun Kanungo, who is best known for his single ‘Baaki baatein’, which released last year, has a promising line-up of songs for this year too. However, the singer says he didn’t ever dream of entering the music industry. It was only when he set up his own recording studio that he decided to become a singer.

Singer Arjun Kanungo will make his acting debut in a web series.

“I used to compose music for ad films. I have composed music for about 120 TV commercials,” says Arjun, adding, “Later, I met Asha Bhosle through a friend. She liked my voice, and asked me to be part of her music tour. A lot of my training, as a singer, took place under her guidance.”

Arjun was then signed by a music label that produced his songs, ‘Baaki baatein’ and ‘Fursat’. Apart from indie music, he has also sung songs such as ‘Khoon choos le’ (Go Goa Gone; 2013) and ‘Tum chal diye’ (Pizza; 2014).

That’s not all. Arjun is a trained actor from The Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute, California, USA. “I am planning to pursue acting in movies. That’s something I really like, apart from music. In fact, I am acting in a web series that will release by the end of this year,” says Arjun.
